It is difficult, and at times impossible, for adult learners to further their education in a so-called "traditional" manner - 4 years, 12/15 hr semesters, 9 month school year.

Adult learners are also not always able to "travel" to a traditional school - some can ONLY learn at a distance (on-line) or a combination of both. University of Phoenix, and other "non-traditional" schools fill this nitch. UoP is a good, non traditional, school IMO. Those who oppose UoP have, it seems to me, some sort of an "agenda" - more than likely one were they could not "cut it" at UoP.

Lot's of reasons some can't cut it - Lot's of reasons.

No one gave me a passing grade that I didn't earn. The fact is that I ended up getting on acedemic probation for a period of time. I was out for 6 months. I ended up failing a class and had to retake that class. My GPA suffered and I was out. I took that time to study and pass the class. (Statistics) I would spend hours each week during that 6 month break learning statistics. I not only have the subject down but I was able to master excell as well.

My first concern as an employer would be hiring someone who completely mangled a certain word (above).
