It makes a difference what Chandler ZIP code you live in?

In any event, having to clean up all this seems to be outside the bounds of normal alley zone maintenance.

Having an alley that isn't used by the city for that purpose is crazy. I think the OP ought to revisit getting control of that property.

To the OP- what is behind you on the other side of the alley? The back yards of other houses? What part of Chandler is this?
We live in an HOA--the houses on the other side--do not. I think they may be responsible for some of it because the houses--well lets just say--are on the borderline of urban blight. But I have also seen people dumping stuff in that alley as well that I don't believe live in the neighborhood. (Like landscapers etc.)

Well I am happy to report that the City of Chandler came through and totally cleaned up the alley--cut down weeds, trees, and cleaned up all the trash. It looks GREAT! Thank you Chandler.

Bumping the thread.

So what's the purpose of these alley ways that still applies today? There is one behind my property, I went out couple of times to cut the weeds, I hated it. Our trash is collected in the curb.

If these alley ways doesn't serve any purpose, why not just sell the space to the homeowners?
