Snowbirds you're welcome to chime in as well. A snowbird (unless there is an emergency) has NO reason to be on the freeway during morning and evening rush hour. I know I sound like a pompous jerk, but SERIOUSLY I see a TON of snowbirds during the rush hours! What is the deal? You can do your doctor visits, grocery shopping and whatever else you do OUTSIDE of those times.

Please do us 9 to 5ers a favor and stay off the road during these times. It would be much appreciated.

So the guy voices his displeasure about clogged up highways and byways due to 500,000+ snowbirds, and he's labeled as having some sort of mental disorder? Youre all a nice bunch.

What - he didn't know this when he decided to move here?

He never said that, so we cant assume. For all we know he might be a native.

We unfortunately have to deal with the annual invasion of snowbird retirees, and we all know about it. I mean, how could you not notice the massive influx of out-of-state plates during the winter months? They are a hindrance, no doubt about it.

I would hate to see what our economy would look like without them. Yes, it takes a little bit longer to get around and restaurants seem to have longer waits, but I'm glad that they come here and pump money into our local economy.

The San Tan Highway (202 south loop) is much busier in winter. I usually avoid it this time of year because surface streets are just as fast, and one doesn't usually get trapped in traffic by accidents on those streets.

It's probably a combination of winter visitors plus the fact that schools are in session. Even in the winter the traffic is lighter during school breaks, but not as good as in the summer.

Bingo. (But I don't live in Phoenix anymore. Moved shortly after I retired.)

Yes, they pump money into our economy, and we're all grateful for that. I just wish theyd be more cordial when doing so. lol

Heaven knows I wouldn't want to get in the way of those texting while driving, urgently needing treatment for their STDs or in desperate need of a Starbucks fix.

Hint: We're all "temporary." Try to get along.
