I know affordable is a relative term. But, looking for suggestions for areas (or even certain lots) that offer RV storage at a good/better price than elsewhere. We are moving to the West Phoenix area for my husband's job soon. He is moving in April. The kids, camper, and I will be following this summer. It is my understanding that most HOA neighborhoods do not allow RVs on property, even if they are behind an RV gate. We don't know yet where we will be moving to (other than within 30 min of Tolleson) but I need to start scouting out places for the camper to stay that won't break the bank.

Thank you in advance for any suggestion you can make!

I had a tough time finding a spot to store ours. Finally found a place in Black Canyon City at a reasonable price, but the RV is parked in a dirt lot. That won't help you in the west valley, too far away. I found that storage places closer in were getting $150+ a month for uncovered storage.

I do find it humorous that realtors' ads will extol the virtues of houses that have an RV GATE! when you aren't allowed to actually park an RV behind it.

Or rent a space near Lake Roosevelt in Punkin Center for $190 per mth plus electric. Air is pristine ang right near Roosevelt and Apache to cool off. Why pay the same in PHX to store it ?

Is there anything like indoor RV storage? I can't imagine the desert sun is really good for RV skins.

Thank you guys. I know I'm not going to find something as cheap as we have here. But, going from paying $30/mo to upwards of $200 is PAINFUL.

If it really costs that much, it might make economic sense to buy in an area that does not have an HOA, so that you can save spending thousands a year on RV parking. Wouldn't it just be easier all around to have your RV there on your property where you live?

Any advice outside the Phoenix area [specifically, in the New York metro area] would also be greatly appreciated.

ScottsdaleMark- I agree! We are trying to find a home that will allow us to store there, both for cost and convenience. However, schools have to be the priority. So, wanting to have all of our options looked into.

Covered storage exists, but it's hard to find availability and it's much more expensive. Some people buy cloth covers for their RVs.

I don't, mine is a 1997, so I'm not that concerned about the sun exposure.

U haul at Northern/303. Last time I checked it was $110 for covered storage. They do have indoor RV storage as well but it's pricey in my opinion.

There's also homes in that area (new construction) with RV garages so you could keep it at home.
