Good Evening,

I finally made it to Arizona. Right now i'm in a short-term rental up on Estrella Mountain, Goodyear. But I need to find something long-term. I work in the Westgate Entertainment District, however I have been warned against living in Glendale. But in curious, are there any good neighborhoods in Glendale, and if so, what are their postcodes? This will make it easy for me to do an apartment search online.

Thanks,
Johnny.

azdr0710, can you explain? Are those numbers of 234, 642, zip-codes? I have 2 young kids, so looking for an area suitable. Can you advise further?

Thanks,
Johnny.

That is the population of Glendale. Rule of thumb for the west valley is the further north you go the safer the neighborhood and the better the schools. There are some exceptions to that, Dysart Unified and the city of El Mirage for example, but that is the general rule. Pull out a crime map and start looking if safety is your concern or go to greatschools.com and look at their school map if that is what you are looking for.

Northwestern Glendale (Arrowhead area) is probably the best part of Glendale, while southeastern Glendale (bordering Maryvale) is the worst.

However, why restrict yourself to Glendale? You should also consider Peoria as well.

Pink,

For sure, I'm open to anywhere that is good for family life.

Cheers,
Johnny.

I'd agree with Jazz there Johnny,

Glendale: Look to Arrowhead, there are other nice parts of Glendale but they are scattered, Arrowhead is Glendale's cream of the crop area and it's pretty nice overall.
Peoria: Look to North of Bell

You should also look at Avondale, Litchfield Park, and Goodyear, we have a few posters that actually live in these areas so they can advise you better than I (it's been years since I've been in either of those two and a lot has changed for the better in them)

I live in Surprise and it takes me 15-20 minutes to get to Westgate. If you're okay with that, it's a good family area with good schools.

We looked at northern Glendale and Peoria but ended up buying in Marley Park in Surprise. We absolutely love it here! It's the best community for families with kids we have ever lived in.
