When covered parking is available take advantage of it despite the pricetag. The cost of protected parking equates to saving your vehicle from mechanical failure, not to mention the added interior comfort.
Sure it is nice if you have it. But my point is that relatively few people have covered parking where they work. Their cars are out there all day, day after day. Eventually the paint and maybe interior will show the effects of that. But, the OP is worried about 12 days and that is simply not anything to be concerned about over that short length of time.

You can extend your trucks paint by years if you use a car cover here like I do. This is the company I use they are custom made to fix your car or truck. I put it on everyday at work takes me about 5 minutes I have a Ram 2500 crew cab pickup. I also have ceramic tented windows which cuts lot of the heat down even my windshield is tented with ceramic tint it's almost clear you cant tell it's tinted I got a doctors note anyway so it's legal. If your buying a new pickup every 5 years then doesn't matter but I like to keep my cars 15-18 years at least.

Thanks everyone, I tried for covered parking but you have to reserve it so alas my car is in the sun and dust. I'm sure it will survive.
