And turn off the A/C leaving the sliding door/windows open to cool off the house!
Down side: Having to use more wood to heat up the pizza oven... Nawww, it's worth it!

Hello? It rained all night. Still raining at times. It's humid when it rains. We are surrounded by the remains of a Pacific hurricane. Dry air and cooler nights are in the forecast, once Newton leaves town.

I didnt get any rain til about 6AM in Scottsdale by me. And yes, it gets humid when it rains. But today's (and many other times) humidity and dew point are at tropical levels. Its like that many mornings and evenings during monsoon season when its clear out, too. Having my glasses fog up when I stepped out of my car this morning was just...

I'm calling it, Sky Harbor had it's third consecutive low temp below 75° this morning, and we've already had more than one 5 day+ stretch with mean dewpoints below 50°, so monsoon 2016 is finally over!!

9 days earlier than normal too

Monsoon Season 2016: June 27th to September 14th

Nomal dates: July 6th to September 23rd

Started 9 days early, ended 9 days early, normal length

Normal Rainfall=Approx 2.6"
This years total=2.20" (between start and end dates)

So a drier than normal monsoon, 84.6% of normal rainfall, and overall below avg temp wise, hot July followed by a cool Aug, and first half of September was overall below avg

Except that it is going to get muggy again as soon as Monday. I know, I know. But there are people who will claim every hint of moisture till Sep 30 is "monsoon". I call the end based on the breakdown of the subtropical ridging and the return of the westerlies to Arizona. By those standards monsoon ended over a month ago.

Next weeks moisture is not monsoon related, it will be from a tropical storm, once it moves out, back to dry again
