That's because they extended it all the way to the 51, it only needs to go to the 17. Most of that area due north of the I-10 until the I-17 is incredibly cheap real estate.

Just work on improving or widening Grand should fix the issue. Grand would not be out of the way for arguably 80% of West Valley in or out of Downtown. This I-10 Reliever is only convenient for SW Valley, I bet most of us in either Central or Northwest Valley will not use this at all. Or even due north of the I-10 for some people as that is miles dedicated going out of the way as a less direct option.

It would in conjunction with the South Mountain 202 function as a better downtown bypass for through traffic than the 8 to 85 route
