It'd be better on a track.

Those of us in the southwest valley will be patiently awaiting the light rail expansion to begin, it's not anticipated to be done until 2030. Providing Public Transportation Alternatives for the Greater Phoenix Metro Area | Valley Metro | Project Detail

Meanwhile we can only hope for some of the reliever freeways to be constructed before then because I-10 is a traffic nightmare and it's only getting worse.

This would form part of my Blue Line idea, but I would extend it further west to Westgate.

That would be a good idea but isn't there a plan already in place for Glendale to have light rail that includes a future link to Westgate?

In my dream system, I would have two lines serving Westgate, the Blue and Orange Lines. The Blue Line would be based on the State Capitol branch, while the Orange Line would be based on the Downtown Glendale branch. My Orange Line would continue past Westgate to go further north through Downtown Peoria and would end at Arrowhead Towne Center.

"Central" west valley chiming in. The West Valley as a whole is an entire mess. Even northwest valley. However north and central west valley don't have really any important things except arguably Westgate and that's it. We would be better off in some form of commuter rail down Grand and/or the tracks along the I-10.

Worst freeways in Phoenix in my opinion:
I-10
I-17
60
51
101
202
303

You would think if New Mexico, which has a lot less people than Arizona, can get commuter rail Arizona can.

Yeah I saw that when I was there. Even my parents were like, "wait, is that a passenger train?!"

We could easily (as in there's already tracks and such) put one in from West Valley to SE Valley to Tucson. It's just a matter of getting people to vote for it. With Phoenix still growing and like stated, the I-10 is hell we have confirmed this, I am a strong proponent of it.

Still though we need to start making the I-10 less crappy. That's our priority.
