Tempe rock lawn with whatever the usual weeds and grasses that sprout up. First time using a weedkillet out west. $10 a gallon roundup had great reviews. Sprayed everything good in the morning. Totally drenched some in the cracks of the sidewalk.

Six days later and only mild results. Some I drenched show no results. What gives?

You can't use Roundup to good effect in cooler temps and clouds. Now that it's warming up, it should work better. I use a weed killer I buy at Bug and Weed Mart in granulated form, (it's related to Roundup or has the same active ingredient, according to the label) and mix with water and put in a big sprayer. It didn't stay warm enough when I first put it on, but now it looks better. There are some areas I will spray again this weekend, the warm weather we will be having should take care of them.

I did similar with the professional stuff...the weeds are laughing at me. Going to have to go pull them this weekend.

Good to know about it working better in warm temps. I was beginning to think I would going to have to MOW my gravel driveway as the weeds are really taking over! I tried spraying them and it didn't do much, either.

The weed and bug guy told me about that when he first sold me this stuff. 5 or six packets in a box (don't remember which) for 37.00 and change. Needs temps over 70, and SUN to get the chemical reaction. I assume Roundup is similar.

My weeds are dead. It's the grasses in a few areas that need a little more convincing.

There you go, that's what I do. Good exercise, saves money, and it's a better all around method on many levels in my view. Plus I've found if one keeps up with the weeds/picking them out early before they go to seed, each successive year the weeds will get less and less.

I've done that in the past, too, even last year, but the situation got away from me this year, and I'm just not physically up to it this time. Ever since my front yard flooded in a massive storm Labor Day weekend maybe 8-9 years ago, I have a whole new constellation of weeds to deal with.

I hear you with all this rain. I imagine with the flooding you got a nice shipment of new weed seeds "shipped" to you from points afar.

A lot of my weeds are dandelions and those suckers don't let go easily!

Actually, I think those guys walking around distributing landscaping service flyers drop random weed seeds in my yard. Every so often some new type of weed that has never been in my yard shows up.
