Just keep it simple, non-corporate. Call it Desert Stadium.

Taxpayer money should never be used for sports stadiums. There has already been a big enough fiasco with the Coyotes/Westgate situation. I can only imagine how much of a ruckus the Cardinals would create if they threaten to leave UOP Stadium (or whatever name it will be given). Speaking of which, I hope the new name isn't something pathetically stupid like Talking Stick! University of Phoenix Stadium at least has a nice ring to it.
This I agree with. Secondly, could Phoenix become a Detroit if it doesn't attract enough new business or talent?

Sorry to bump, but considering somebody earlier mentioned Albertsons, and Commonwealth Stadium in Kentucky is being renamed Kroger Field, what about Fry's Field for the new stadium name? It has a nice catch to it, however, one issue that may arise is that most people outside of Arizona recognize Fry's as an electronics chain, while few people outside Arizona have heard of the grocery store chain (even though Fry's Electronics has two stores in Arizona).

Sorry to bump again, but does anyone know when should a new name be announced? Of the names thrown around here, Circle K Stadium is probably my favorite.

Just a reminder, bumping of threads is a violation of TOS.

Just curious, when did that start especially since zombie threads are quite common and promoted at the bottom of the post with similar topics?

That's been the rule all along. "Bumping" doesn't refer to reviving threads generally, but to posting again in a thread where you are the OP and no one else has posted yet, or you are the last one to have posted and post again without adding any new information. Most bumping posts actually use the word "bump".
