She's interested in avoiding scorpions. I never saw a scorpion living midtown; we had black widows, but as I said in my post up-thread those are the usual urban critters pretty much anywhere. Also we got those tiny wall lizards. But they are cute.

Well we have been here in AZ for almost a month. We ended up in Chandler and LOVE it! We did find 2 scorpions in the house about a week after we moved in. Other than that....nothing. We did get an exterminator however.

I actually rented an apartment in a very developed part of Mesa from 2013, when I came from San Diego until the early part of 2017 when I moved into my house in Gilbert. I averaged about 10 scorpions a summer in that apartment. The apartment complex was Sandstone Apartments off of Dobson and Southern. I learned first hand that scorpions are not just a rural or newer area thing out here. That being said, I've yet to see a scorpion at my house in Gilbert surprisingly (Gilbert and Chandler are known hot spots for them). I check my back yard and block wall regularly with a black light at night.
