Hi! My wife and I just bought a foreclosure that is 10 years old and it passed inspection but I would like to get a home warranty for just a year so we don't have to worry about the ac unit for the first year. Cheaper the better since we really only care about the ac unit.
Also the place is a 1700 sq feet house that we would like to put an alarm into. I saw a place that charges 10 a month to moniter but you need to do the install, is that a bad idea? Are certain companies equipment better than others? I would imagine that all the monitering between the companies is relatively similar. But I've never dealt with this so I am probably wrong so any info you can send my way is appreciated!
Thanks!!

We just installed a Protection One alarm last week. We previously had an ADT system, but the company ADT uses for monotoring in PHX is AWFUL, whatever you do, don't use Alarm One for monitoring.

Our home warranty is with Fidelity and they have been good so far.

My experience is that AC coverage in a home warranty is going to cost a decent amount. Every offer I received excluded AC (but not heating) from their advertised price.
