Looks like we are starting to see the early stages of our monsoon develope. Clouds developing to the east and north and some moved in at dusk. Nice breeze from the east so about 3-4 weeks we should see them.

That was surprising to see those clouds this afternoon. The breeze outside now is nice.

This was cause of a trough of low pressure that moved in from the Pacific. We had a similar storm around Jun 20th in 2005, and the monsoon didn't start until almost July 20th that year. So this doesn't mean anything yet

As the winds shift you will see the clouds building up during the day and breaking up because there isn't enough moisture for it to move in. I'm not saying it's officially starting just that you are seeing the beginnings of it.

dont take this wrong, as I just bought a house out there, so soon I too will be a ari-zonian, but, as a current chicagoan, I find it funny that clouds alone get some of you guys excited!

Just wait until it rains and the news reporters are outside on the streets saying "It is raining right now, as you can see behind me, there are puddles forming..."

i remember being there one time on a business trip, and watching tv from my hotel room and seeing that exact thing, and wondering to myself, "what kind of nut jobs are these folks"?

I guess I am joining the ranks of those nut jobs as we just bought a house here yesterday!

Considering June, followed by May are typically the driest months in Arizona, when you see clouds in those months it's a BIG thing!

Don't take this wrong, but when you officially become an ArizonAN, you'll begin developing excitement for and appreciation of such funny things as clouds... and shade trees... and rain... and cool weather as well.
