I keep seeing on frugal websites where people purchase furnishings for their house for deeply discounted prices. Someone I talked to found new granite countertops already cut but they were the wrong size for whoever originally ordered them so they got them 70% off. Other people I've talked to have found open box appliances for a deep discount at big box stores (either floor models or have dings or dents in them) and knobs for cabinets, lamps, everything for cheap prices. Where can I find these deals in Phoenix or the East Valley? I want to update my kitchen but I don't have a large budget so I'm trying to be as frugal as possible. I've heard of Habitat for Humanity Restore. Is it worth the drive to check it out? Where else can I go for good deals? I don't mind shopping around and doing it a little at a time I just want to save money. Where's a good place to buy things for a discount? I am specifically looking for countertops for kitchen, appliances for kitchen and washer and dryer. Any suggestions? TIA!
