I have lived in Phoenix my whole life these cameras are for revenue and revenue only even the the Public defenders that work for the state will tell you that, my friend is one.

The city of Tempe is the worst of all of them they Illegally serve people everyday and people pay, it is simple as that. The city doesn't think anyone will higher a lawyer or even fight it on their own.

The fact of the matter is the cameras are set to go off at 1 mile over the speed limit you got it 1 mile in most cases and for the red light cameras they are set to go off at a yellow light not a red light. So, who are they ticketing innocent people most of the time. So , when they mail you out a document they say oh you were going 47 miles an hour in a 35 when in fact your probably going 10miles less than that.

It doesn't take a genius to see that they are steeling from innocent people and profiting. The state and the city's are hurting the deficit is high. So, who else are they going to profit off of but the little guy who either can't or won't defend them self's and forced to give their hard earned money to this oligarchy of a state.

if your statements are in fact true. you should hire a lawyer and Sue the city for fraud. you would win. you could use your friend as proof to the conspiracy

Of course the cameras are for revenue. And of course we should be prepared to pay for it if we go over the speed limit. The issue is the multiple tickets. I got 2 tickets, 2 minutes apart...what if they were one minute apart...what if they are every 100 yards. This is multiple punishments for the same offense. Somewhere along this line it has to be wrong. It is the mindset behind this operation that is virtually fascist...squeeze them until they revolt......

I recently got a ticket for going 3 miles over the speed limit... supposedly... I don't believe that I was because it was in a school zone and It drives me crazy that people speed so much around there... It isn't even really a ticket... it doesn't state anywhere on the forms HOW MUCH it will be to pay...
I am not the registered owner of the vehicle - should the owner respond with "not the driver" and it will go away? We have had horribly bad luck lately and I am overly worried that something else bad will happen to us... any advice???

School Zones here in AZ have ZERO tolerance for speed. There should be a phone number on the ticket for you to call to get the answers to your questions.

Default Follow up Questions

Sorry for bumping a thread from a month ago... but I had a few questions that seem to be unanswered. I have read through pages and pages of this forum and I am understanding more about photo radar than I ever wanted to know.

My questions:

1) The 120-day window in which you must be served is from the date of the violation? Or from your court date
- my reason for asking is that my scheduled court date is 117 days after the violation. So obviously I cannot show up and say I wasnt served.

2) What happens if I don't go to that first court date - am I assigned another one?

3) I plan on moving to a new house in the next couple of months. If I still have an outstanding ticket, am I unable to change the address on my drivers license?

Thanks everyone.

I was photoed going 66mph on the 101 east at 35th ave... a route I take to work every day which is ALWAYS 65mph. I dont know about the day of the supposed violation, but the day after there were NO 55mph signs. I just cannot bring myself to pay $181 for a crime I dont think I was committing.

I've heard so many confliciting stories from people on both sides. I have two tickets myself. One that just states I should pay a fine, and another that gives me a court date.
I RARELY drive on the freway and I've gotten two tickets, this shish is ridiculous and I know this private company has to be cleaning up in all the fines they are issuing. I sure hope the republican led state legislature and government can walk the walk after all that talk and do someting about this police state we're living in now a days!!!

My feeling on all these threads is, if you don't comply with the speed laws, don't be surprised when you get caught, even by the cameras. Slow down, pay up, and move on.
