My plan is to move out to the Phoenix area in October. My ultimate goal would be to buy a house but it might be difficult for me to buy a house right away and it would give me a little more time to explore all of the neighborhoods before committing on a certain house.

Airbnb or VRBO would probably be the cheapest. I actually work for a company that offers fully furnished month to month apartments but they can be pricey since they are more geared toward relocating professionals with the rent being paid by the company.

And you can always check Craigslist. Personally, I would hesitate to use Air BNB for anything longer than a couple of weeks.
