You may be aware that the Arizona Republic newspaper constantly wins journalism prizes ... for awards that are only for Arizona. It's very, very rare that they would win anything on a national level.

Good articles. Kudos to the Republic for the win and for shedding light on a complex issue.

Ongoing issues with customer service became intolerable. Pre-payment caused billing, sourced to LA, to become problematic. Early press deadline didn't help. Consistency proved to be an option. Not a solid business plan.
There are a handful of excellent writers and when allowed to excel... they do sparkle.

With no competition the presentation is take it or leave it. This is why I cancelled my subscription.

I figured it'd be border stories. No one can cover the border issue like a border state

Any chance you gave them a detailed complaint when you cancelled?

Quit the AZ repugnant years ago; no need for their pro-illegal immigrant and liberal agenda. That's not objective journalism.

My best memories of that newspaper were 45 years ago when I delivered it to wonderful folks in Tempe.

Objective moderate observers consider it conservative.
