Yesterday the Phoenix Police Department killed another man. They report say he was armed and potential he dangerous yet no further details have been released yet. So far this year we have surpassed the amount of officer involved shootings from last year and are on track to double it.

I don’t know what happened in yesterday‘s incident but I know that a lot of these shootings can be prevented. They very may well have prevented something worse from happening yesterday. And if that is truly the case then I am grateful. However it would be nice to see less officer involved deaths of citizens.

I have but one comment . . .

For those "Anti-Cops" out there . . . try putting yourself in the shoes of a Police Officer for just 24 hours prior to passing judgement.

Unfortunately, that old "Damned if You Do and Damned if You Don't" applies here.

How can you guys automatically take the cop's side without knowing the details of what happened? There are bad guys on both sides. I'll withhold judgement until I see the details.

The reports make me want to take the cops side so far.

But that’s changed in the past, would like to see more details about how a citizen lost his life yesterday, even revealing the identity would be helpful

There you go. They don't release names right away, ever. Now they have.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes, they say.

Comply and you're good. Simple as that. If the police had to show up in the first place, it tells you the offender was a world class turd.

So...man is fiddling with a handgun at the bus stop (not really illegal but suspicious), 911 call goes in from a Security Guard, police showed up, confront the person and tell him not to touch the firearm in his pocket, man proceeds to pull the handgun from their pocket and the Police defended themselves from a perceived threat.

That about sum it up? If the Police tell you to not touch a potentially deadly weapon...don't do it.

"Officer, I am not dangerous and have no intention of harming you, would you like me to present my firearm?"
