In a red state the general consensus is that the majority of Section 8 users are complete ghetto trash and that they will do nothing other than destroy your property and commit crimes and cause grief and generate police reports linked to your address.

I'm not saying that this is my opinion, I'm just explaining the opinion of most Arizonans without any political correctness or B.S. terminology.

It's not just Arizona. Checking other forums on City-Data and other sites, most of the concerns are the same. Yes, there are some decent people who happen to use Section 8 vouchers. But there are a lot of bad apples on Section 8 that ruin it for many landlords. If not the actual renters themselves, then family or friends of the renters who come around the property and cause problems.

To the OP, whether you're on Section 8 or not, your biggest issue is that in the Phoenix area, the rental market today favors landlords. Rental rates have gone up over the past few years.

There's nothing "red state" about it. It's the same in California. Section 8 renters are a highly disproportional source of problems. Fact, period, end of story.

Because section 8 tenants bring lots of "issues" that neighbors don't want to live next to. Over time this results in lowering the quality of residents in a neighborhood.

Is this really new news to you? I find it hard to believe that you are unaware that people using government housing programs tend to have more issues surrounding them that others don't want to live next to.

These days you’d be better off running an AirBnB. Lots of money in that.

OP have you looked at this:

https://www.phoenix.gov/housing/find...-sites-housing

Perhaps you'd qualify for some affordable housing that is run by the city itself. I think you'd maybe need to be here already in order to apply, but I'm not sure.

The OP has lost interest in Phoenix, apparently, and has started a thread about relocating to New Jersey, instead.

Personally I think the "OP" has just been trolling. Brand new account, hot button issue, multiple forums, you do the math.
