I live near a strip mall corner. We have pigeons nesting in our backyard palm, about 15 feet up.

Too close to the strip mall to trap, new ones will just come. Will any of these bird repellent sprays or jells actually work?

Only repellant I know that works is a pellet pistol... But don't get caught.

You could trim the palm way back to a few fronds and see if they relocate, or put wire around the nesting areas.

Oh, and don't use a slingshot.

I tried that and missed. The steel marble I was using hit the block wall, putting a big ding in it, then richochetted back into our patio and broke the $35 special order globe on our outdoor ceiling fan/light. My spouse took my slingshot away.

There is supposedly something that works, something granular, that you can get at a hardware store. But why don't you at least try a few things before asking us?

And if your pigeons are only 15 feet up, why don't you temporarily install something with spikes sticking out to keep them away? Or what if you tucked one fo those fake owls in there?

There is no commercial chemical bird repellant to keep birds out of palm trees. You can try barriers such as shiny ribbons, bird spikes, fake owls, or cut the tree down.

I have trapped a few with a rat glue trap. Now, I use the netting.. don't want them near my ac equipment. Others have had success hanging beer cans from string or music CDs. Might consider an electronic repeller, that makes an almost silent irratating sound. Perhaps, an effigy of Uncle Janet...

How were you using the glue traps and netting?

I use the netting on the balcony of my high rise condo, but I had previously just taped a glue trap to the concrete floor of the balcony. Actually caught a mother and a few babies. You get used to the netting...
