Get Cox StraightUp Prepaid Internet if it is available. It is a flat $50 month, Modem and Wi-Fi included. Unlimited usage up to 100GB (depending on your area). They don't advertise it, you have to look for it on their website. It is the best deal going.

As far as I know, the basic providers for all of metro Phoenix are Cox and Century Link, and I consider both dismay in terms of customer service.

Cox. But there are more outages than there should be. That said, like all cable providers, you get a deal and then they change the plan on you. So, I dropped my plan from memory down to 30 Mbps. Now I pay $49.99 all in after tax. Oh, I bought my own modem. But, I just did the Speed Test again, and I continually test at 115 Mbps+. Now, I have faster than I need service and I don't have to play their games by threatening to leave annually to drive down the costs.

It's not just Cox or (MUCH WORSE) Century Link. For the last 20 years, customer service has been a lost art. Price, quality, service: Pick two of the three. Younger Americans that don't remember great service assume crappy service is normal.

Seems Cox And Century Link are the only game in town if you're looking for high speed internet at home. Both cost way more than they should and customer service is horrible.

Cox gave me a promotion, I get 500/50 for 49.99 total including taxes. It was a 2 year contract.
