I can't overstress the DE alternative. We had a lot of them, and the exterminator gave me DE and said to spread it and flush it down the toilets as well. We have not seen a live one since I did this (be generous--it will look like you spilled flour all over, but it beats the alternative. Our friend had one in his bed, and was stung five times, for an ER visit and two days work lost with awful pain). I sprinkled the bed frame and put it all around the legs. This won't stop one from falling on the bed, so you still need to check before you get in, but this way one will have to hit the bed directly rather than climbing up from the floor; much less likely. Also, make sure the bedcovers don't touch the floor.

we looked a vacant home for sale a while back and something had me puzzled, there was this white substance on the garage floor, like flour, also in the tolit! I asked my friend what do you think that is in the tolit? she thought it was maybe some kind of cleaner left in it. You think this was DE?

Give it time as well. We had them everywhere when we first moved into our new house 10 years ago. After the other houses where completed in the area, they seem to be gone. Might see 1 a year if that.
The diatomatious earth used as pest control is NOT the DE you use in your pool and is not the stuff you find in the pool section. That stuff is harmful to humans.

You're looking for food grade DE which is different than the stuff for pools.

Get your house sealed...should cost about 1k. That and monthly spraying. To see if the spraying is working, you can go outside with a flashlight (not a blacklight) and see if you see crickets and/or roaches. That is what you want to stop.

I'm told the sealing can take a while as they can crawl out for a year or so. But it has to help...I would be going nuts.

I'm not saying it will happen or that it is common, but it is possible. That I know for a fact!!
So, from the roof?

Default Scorpion deterrent....

When we bought our house we were seeing scorpions frequently so I asked my neighbor who is a pest control guy "what do I do"?

He said to get some Cykick CS and spray it completely around your house and around the baseboards inside.
Cykick CS not only kills bugs which are what brings in scorpions but also takes out the scorpions themselves.
We've not had a single scorpion make it into the house since although I will find the occasional dead one in the garage.

One of the 3 scorpions that we had on our apartment came crawling out of the furnace filter when we took it out to replace it.
