that's why we're called Bouncing Czechs! Bounce to Chicago, Bounce Back....do it myself, at least once a year...as far as food goes, however, I make it myself....for Thanksgiving....and you can get Chateau (made in Chicago) dumplings in the frozen section at Fry's....

I am beginning to tell people, here, that my first language was Czech...family arrived in 1909 through Ellis and Boston....Dad in 1948 again through Ellis post WWII.

anyone know of a Czech restaurant in the Phoenix area? Looking to take my Meetup group

Camille

That's funny! Also, just as an FYI, there used to be a popular song back in the '60's named "The Bounce"!

I have been in Phoenix for 6 years, but have not met too many people of Czech or Slovak decent. I do know that Tucson has a few Czech clubs/organizations... here is a link to one of them. Index

note: my parents immigrated to America (from Czechoslovokia) in the 1920s. My mother's maiden name is Masaryk... Tomas Garrigue Masaryk (founder and 1st president of Czechoslovokia) was my mom's great uncle. I would love to meet other people of Slovak /Czech decent that live in AZ.
There is not to many people in AZ with family ties to eastern europe... as you can see from the bank jokes.
