We have looked at a lot of new homes in the mid $100's. It seems like a lot of difference in quality when you look close and look past the ginger bread in models.

We have looked at Pulte, Meritage, Taylor Morrison, Ryland, Shea, Beazer, Fulton, Centex, DR Horton, Richmond American.

Any comments on price versus quality?

Thanks

I've had good luck with Taylor Morrison.
they are well built homes and the price was right when I bought
it. At the time I got a 2 year warranty thru Morrison but TM changed it.
Still, customer service was good!

Price can only be compared in the same area and then it has more to do with features than quality of construction/workmanship. Back in the old days, trades were employed directly by the builders. Now, almost all of the builders use subs - many of them use the same ones. They all build to the same codes and get inspected by the same inspectors. There is little differentiation. I think that you find a plan at a price you can afford in an area you like and not worry about who the builder is.

We like the Shea home we purchased and had noticed a difference in quality of standard features offered by the different builders we looked at. Recently, we went through a Maracay home up here in Vistancia and they seem to be building a better home than in the past.
