I like McCain, but cannot stand Palin and therefore, cannot vote for a McCain/Palin ticket. It seems more and more Arizonans feel the same way. What many people do not understand about Arizona is that although it appears to be a red state in the eyes of the nation, it is very much an anomaly and not easily defined like other red states such as Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, etc. Arizona is not conservative in a way that is definable or even comparable to other states. This will be an interesting election year.

Poll shows presidential race too close to call
I am another long time resident of Phoenix, and I know what you mean. I would not have voted for McCain anyway, as I am very strong supporter of Obama, but I would not "fear" his presidency, if not for Palin, and if not for the fact that, having watched the debates and the extreme negative campaigning, I begin to wonder if he is not in the beginning stages of old age demetia. McCain definatly HAD his good points, I have no real reason to think that he still has them!

very true. . . without Palin, McCain would have had a hard time getting the conservatives, with her, he can't get the moderates. . . a lose / lose strategy!

It seems as though both canidates wanted to pick a VP that would compair to the actual headlining prseidential candidate for the other party. Obama first african american young handson and a good speaker. Palin first female VP beautiful young and a good speaker. McCain old experianced knows the ins and outs of politics. Biden old experianced knows the ins and outs of politics. Niether primary candidate really choosed a VP for the best interest of their party they simply chose a candidate that they thought would balance the differences of the two tickets. Both of them made mistakes.

From what I see Palin is a class act and the reason that I would vote for the ticket. McCain is no conservative. I am a Republican and will vote that way. Not too hip on Socialism as I see it as un American. When Nobamma talks socialistic ideals are what I hear.

Glad to hear that Palin screwed it up for McCain too...what the hell was he thinking?
to a few she may have screwed it up for him, but not everyone would agree and no ones vote is ever wasted even though, we all are pretty sure McCain will carry AZ..

Regardless of one poll, saying McCain will lose AZ is like saying he will win in NM. Many polls have that as a toss up right now.

What again about Obama makes him a socialist? That he wants to raise the tax rate on the top two brackets to what they were during the Clinton era?

Would you then say that Clinton was a socialist?

I think there is a little more to it than that? .. First of all he says, "only those making over 250,000" but his running mate says "those making over $150,000", that in itself makes a big difference. Plus 40% of those he wants to give this great break to, pay no income tax ,many are on welfare and now Obama wants to reward them. Let me tell you something, we are retired, living pretty much on SS, and some investments plus we both are still able to work part time. We get by, we do some traveling and we pay our bills, we are considered low middle class and yet, we do not want or need him to support us.....THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

With all the political correctness out there, why is Ageism still acceptable?
