I'm just trying to figure out what I'm missing... If you're a homeowner in Gilbert, you pay:

Mortgage
Taxes
HOA (if applicable)
Home owners insurance
Electric

Water?
Sewer?
Heat? Do you ever turn it on and are most homes forces air?
Trash removal? Recycling?

Anything I'm missing?

We're coming from Massachusetts, so your oil/heating bill is the expensive one, just like I assume electricity for AC is in Arizona. Thanks for your help!

Water, sewer and trash is all together with Gilbert Utility Dept.
Electric is with SRP in most places here
Some homes have gas

Some AC is gas, some is elec.

Yes we use heat during the winter, but not like you would in MA/

Do you use central heat, or small heaters in each room? I wonder which would be more cost effective.

It's all central heat and ac. I've never seen a home with heaters in each room in this area. There may be a few older ones, but I haven't seen them.

How much is the average water/sewer/trash bill a month (or quarter, however they do it)?

It's per month, but I don't know what the bills are. My wife takes care of them.

Here's the Gilbert Utilities web site. You can call them and they'll be able to give you a good answer.

I live in Chandler and almost never use my central heating in winter cause it costs too much to heat the whole house when I am in one room. I have small electric heaters, one in the family room and one in the bedroom. I also have an electric fireplace in the family room that helps alot in winter. My electric bill has been alot lower since I started doing this. Chandler is next to Gilbert and also SRP.
