It depends on the BTU rating of the water heater. The one we put in is 193,000 Btu and we can easily run 2 showers with out problem.

In Japan this is the standard, even in commercial settings. I love these things and if/when I return to the states I would install one immediately (That and the super robo toilet Toto) Never runs out of water as it s not trying to heat a volume of water, just what is running through the pipe at the time....and it takes up so little space.
