if you are driving past a fixed camera you'll notice two lines very close to each other, almost like a honeycomb, in between the camera lights - if measures the time of your tires hitting the first line until your tired hit the second line

if you were travelling from the bottom of the page to the top of the page it would look like this

camera & lights

--<===>--<===>--<===>--

camera & lights

And after you pass the wires, it is pedal to the medal ASAP to make up time for having to slow down for a few seconds.

i'm glad you like the idea of being policed by a private for profit company

with the budget crunch coming up and blackwater getting the boot from Iraq, maybe we could save some cash and just enlist them to keep order around this place................

Me too. I hated having to worry about motorcycle cops sitting in the bushes with laser. Now that all the speed traps are marked for me by radar detector, gps camera detector, and flashy yellow signs, I never have to worry about getting a ticket. And in the off chance that a camera malfunctions like has happened what seems like a zillion times in Scottsdale, and I get a ticket in the mail, I can do like everyone else and ignore it and hide out for a few months and not answer the door.

OTOH, being the altruistic kind of guy I am, I am concerned about those others who still choose to drive around AZ without countermeasures and wind up with expensive tickets. In that regard I am totally against the cameras.
