My wife and I love Cave Creek.... We have enjoyed many stays at Spur Cross B&B. Inn Keeper Caroline is a hoot. We now own a house in NE Phoenix but are looking to buy up there. As for critters, we have not seen any nasties , though Caroline has a skin from a rattler hanging on the wall. Lots of Jackalopes , quail, havalinas, and beepbeep roadrunners . Look for the saguaro cactus by the Cave Creek Library that is actually a Cell phone tower... It fooled me.

I've lived in LA, Cave Creek, and North Scottsdale most my life.

You will die of boredom in Cave Creek. North Scottsdale will be hard for you to handle. When I went there to LA which actually has things open past 8pm, I almost fainted. You will die of boredom anywhere in the Phoenix metro, but Cave Creek is my suggestion above NoSco simply because it IS a quiet 'cowboy' town with a more southern value and quiet serenity.

No.Sco is not snobby, Mid Sco is snobby, people in No Sco are generally awesome (Im talking pinnacle peak and Pima and North)

But you will die of boredom no matter what. Both Cave Creek and No Sco flood a lot, so you'll need an SUV if you live either place and commute southwards, but CC is better. Carefree is also awesome, beautiful, quiet, serene, peaceful, but classy.

Have fun. Remember, you're going to die.. of boredom. I'd not go back after living in LA and NY is 10934982x faster.
