I've lived in Az for 34 years and have never been the victim of a crime.....this has been in NE Phx, central Tucson, and the town of PV.....a drunk driver once ran into my car (nobody hurt), and I can't find some camera eqpt and some important papers (they may turn up or they may have been lifted by people doing work on the house, I don't know).....I do not have a house alarm or a car alarm....

I do lock my car when out and I usually lock my house when home or gone.....I don't own a gun....I have no worries at all.....sometimes I drive thru famously bad neighborhoods just to see what they're like!....I don't cross the street if I see a person not of my race approaching.....I don't do drugs or deal them....I'm aware of my surroundings....I do not fear any neighborhood in the state....if I move, I'll check out the areas and get a feel for them and, if I don't like them, I'll look somewhere else.....

we all have to take responsiblity for ourselves and not create situations that put ourselves at risk.....(don't get involved in drugs, be aware of your surroundings, don't be an a*****e, get involved in neighborhood groups, DO NOT BE AFRAID).........

yes, random violence occurs....horrible thing....I could go live in a cave, too....

Good points except for one little thing.....

"I don't cross the street if I see a person not of my race approaching"

What's up with that....

I think azdr's point is that there are some people that DO cross the street if they see someone not of their race approaching.
