I have Old Republic and they will send someone out for this - my AC blew warm air last summer and they took care of it right away.

Whatever decision people reach, I think they should think about their personal skill in being able to fix things and experience hiring contractors. Hiring contractors isn't necessarily a smooth process, it certainly hasn't been for me. They often won't show up to the job or will call you at the end of the day to reschedule after you just took the day off to be at home. They know they aren't limited by a warranty company so they will try to sell you services you don't need or charge higher prices than necessary. Finding reputable contractors on your own can be difficult. Websites like Kudzu are often unreliable because contractors pose as consumers and rate themselves and will post enough to drown out the critical reviews. If you've been fortunate hiring honest and reliable contractors then I agree that a home warranty isn't worth it
