I HATE hot weather & summer. Tm hoping to not use my cooler until july (like last year). Last yr summer lasted 3 months here (july-sept). That was quite rare. Its usually hot here from may-oct. My a/c dont work in my car but at least my 4 pwr windows work in my 85 olds. I drove my 90 Tbird for 3 or so yrs with no a/c & both pwr windows wouldnt go down. I would drive the car in 90 plus degree weather (even 100 plus) & hope i dont get stuck in a traffic jam especially on the freeway. I came close. I ran the hot air vents inside the car. I did finally push the windows down last aug but i was told the glass could break off the track. This was after a riverside county rookie cop ticketed me for tinted windows after driving the car for 6 yrs with no problem. I had to remove tint & pay a thieving 25.00 fine. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!

We had to run the AC for a little bit on Saturday night (4/17) and Sunday night (4/18) in order to make the house cool enough for my husband to fall asleep in. I think the temp was about 80 or so inside (perfectly balmy for me; too hot for him). Saturday was the first time the air has been on in 2010. I'll continue to try to hold out on running it all the time by using our ceiling fans. Having nice cool tile floors also helps. Not looking forward to the coming months where opening a window is impossible.

One upgrade to our home we are glad we did was the insulation package with the low E windows. Our trees are also bigger this year and we seem to have more shade now. So no, we have not yet run the AC. We also have the ceiling fans going. I think we can make it till the end of May like last year. I hate those big electric bills.

We turned air on last night for the first time. Turned it on at bedtime to cool off and air out house a little - we've had it closed up due to allergies. Turned it off again before we went to sleep. I'm guessing it will be awhile before we run it all the time - we haven't even turned ceiling fans on yet.

Been turing it on in the afternoons already to keep the house under 80. Only 7 months to go and it will be cool and comfortable again.

We haven't turned on our AC yet but we have the ceiling fans on. I find that portable fans or tower fans are much better at cooling than ceiling fans though. The pool has been a great way of cooling off too. I see us not turning on the AC until mid May.

I could never live in a climate where you use the ac in spring.
