Hey on the next contest, was hoping we were going to get a heads up to what the subject or theme was going to be. On all my photography clubs or websites, the themes are posted for the year in advance on a schedule of events. Even if we could extend out 3 or 4 months it sure would be a help.

I think I have finally tied up all the loose ends on the first contest and we're ready for the next one.

Should we go ahead and pick a topic and let you guys be getting your shots together?

Also, how long do you want to wait before we say "OK, time to post the shots?"

Let's vote on a few themes and we'll do the most popular ones first.

So, I see tom62 posted a lot of great ideas above, does anyone have others to add?

Well, that's something to consider (the winner choosing) but I had another idea that might help with long term planning for photographs.

I thought about taking a poll of about 6-10 different themes, and then running them in order (or in opposite order) of how the votes fall. That way the shortest period of time would be for the first contest but we'd already know the themes for the future contests.

Also, should there be some rule about how long it could be between wins for posters?

What if Maine Writer starts sweeping these contests! That'd be a nightmare!

Hey now! It could be fun! I was thinking of themes like:

• Self portrait - to be taken within five minutes of waking (someone else wins, I'm not entering that one!)
• Lost dog - taken 30 seconds after dog becomes lost
• Bath time for kitty (my cat weighs 30 lbs, I'm not entering that one either)
• Surprise! Show the shock on a loved one's face when you whip open the shower curtain (count me out, I can't afford to be divorced)
• Mommy Mommy! Look at the ____. Give a kid a camera day.

See? It doesn't sound toooo nightmarish.

That's ok... we all can reserve the right to boo the winner if the winner picks a theme we don't like.
