20.2-megapixel, 1-inch, backside illuminated sensor behind a massive 24-200mm (in 35mm equivalent) constant aperture f/2.8 optically stabilized lens. The sensor is the same impressive chip found in the RX100 Mark II, which we've seen to provide stellar image quality, even in low light conditions. The lens is branded as a Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T*, and Sony says it is the first constant f/2.8 aperture lens with that kind of zoom range.

Wonderful options! I was going to post this earlier but got distracted, so thanks for doing that.
Sony RX10 looks like a revival of my good old friend: Sony F828, but this time with a sensor that is fantastic. The lens range is similar (F828: 28-200 equiv, RX10: 24-200 equiv). I think Sony's idea that it is the first constant f/2.8 aperture lens might relate to it being done with a sensor that is at least 4x larger than the typical super zoom/compact camera. It looks like Sony is planning to market it as a good video option too.
And of course there are the two new "NEX" bodies, no longer labeled as NEX: A7 (Full Frame, 24 MP, $1700 body-only) and A7r (Full Frame, 36 MP, $2300 body-only). Very interesting.

i wish they wouldn't come out with something new every year...lol...it makes me want to give up or sell my current NEX 3N...lol......that RX10 is looking so enticing right now...the price tag is holding me back though. these new sensors are said to be very good.
