I'm loving all the pictures from all over, thanks folks!

Thanks all too for the pictures of Chicago and Gary. It's crazy that two cities so close together could be so different.

Ok, Here are five more photos of Nizhny Novgorod. (Sorry for my English. I use google translater )
My city is small...about 1 200 000 people. But in Russia it takes 3 or 4 place under Moscow and St.Petersburg, and maybe Ekaterinburg. So, there are not many sights in Nizhny Novgorod and you will see duplicate of some of them in my photos.

Ок. This is sunset on Oka river in long exposure.

2010 Summer was very hot in European part of Russia. And forests around the city was covered by fire. We lived for two months in smoke in the air. It was hard to breathe, but good time to take nice pictures

Nizhny Novgorod is the center city of large region. There are many small towns and villages in regions of Russia. Everyone of them has one or more Churches. In my region it's Orthodox Churches, mostly. Many churches have been destroyed in Soviet period and now Churches are being restored by local residents. This is Ostrovoezersky monastery, one of such buildings near Nizhny Novgorod (50 km). Word "Ostrovoezersky" can be translated as "located on an island in the lake". So, lake around monastery makes it place very beautiul.

This is Church-of-Alexander-Nevsky. You may see it in many of my photos above.

This is Church-of-Alexander-Nevsky again. And you can see here two rivers join in one. In the left part is Oka river, in the right part is Volga river.

I have much more photos of my city. I don't know, whether it will be interesting for people in this forum, but I hope, that I just open some little door right in my place, right in my cultural traditions for you. )
Now we have sunny spring with much water everyewhere in the city, because winter was very snowy, and it is good period for photographers.

We have no sea port in our city, but we have shipbuilding plant. And we did a report about the descent of the vessel on the water. It was stormy weather with snowfall and hail.
