Are there any reputable (besides Amazon) online sites for cameras? It seems like the internet is peppered with complaints about various sites using bait-and-switch tactics for camera and other electronic purchases. Is the only safe way to buy from a camera store?
I have never had a single problem with B&H, so they are the ones I order from. The deals that are too good to be true, online, probably are. Lots of people fall into those scams.
B&H and J&R are definitely good places to buy stuff online...i bought a lot of my electronics there and they all came in good condition and very speedy delivery too....
I've heard good things about KEH, they usually under rate their cameras, a bgn may turn out better than descibed, chance you take but i would buy from them and have no worries.
I did check out B&H last night...there were still some complaints but appears that they have been resolved. They were also quite dated complaints (ca. 2005) and have not seen any. Are they still using the tedious manual credit verification process I read about? I was a little scared after seeing the complaints against 86Streetphoto.com regarding offering the lowest price and then calling you to tell you that it's back-ordered, or that the battery was not included in the price, etc. etc.
Has anyone ordered a camera from Dell.com? I have had no problems (other than them using stupid DHL to deliver ) for my laptops, but was wondering if anyone had experience on camera purchases. Their price for the model I wanted was about $50 less than at Amazon.
B&H - I've bought two cameras, five lenses, and two filters from them and never had the slightest problem. Shipping is always fast. The one item I had to return was processed promptly as well.
