I am a fan of cemetery photos, especially the light and shadow created by the headstones, which I first really noticed in the Hitchcock movie, Vertigo. Here's a few of mine.

The first batch are of a cemetery near Stevenson, WA overlooking the Columbia gorge taken the fall of 2008.

This is Port Gamble cemetery taken in April 2009

Too bad I did not have a decent camera when we lived in CT. There were many really interesting headstones, really really old.

We always referred to cemeteries as dead center of town!

Hmmm this thread has inspired me....think I'll head out with the camera.....its kind of gray and cloudy...now call me nuts, but that sounds perfect for B&W imagery of cemetery stones and such.....

Beautiful pics! Especially that second photo in the OP, fantastic!
One of the prettiest cemetaries I've ever seen is in Cinncinati, wish I'd taken pictures.
And some of the most interesting cemetaries have been the old abandoned family plots I've come across while hiking or camping.

I, too, can get very excited about this thread. This might inspire me to make a return visit to Graceland Cemetery when I'm up in Chicago next month (preferably on a day when the Cubs have an away game).

Also, Bibit, you and I need to plan that trip to Charleston so we can contribute more locally to this thread.
