Hmm, maybe the pollution from the plants are getting to their heads. Also, I've counted at least 5 spelling errors in that article... don't they know how to proofread?

LOL!

Did they have to use 'gathering' and 'gathered' in EVERY sentence?

Horrid writing....

I think all the stations are using interns for more and more things. If not, this is frightening. I see mis-spellings daily on the news.

Heck, forget on the news or newspaper. Do you ever see the spelling mistakes on this forum as well as other forums? The sad thing is they even have a spell checker they can use and they STILL have it wrong. Sad, sad, sad!

They probably don't even know about a spell checker, but most of the time it's just pure laziness.

It's a msg board; who cares. Now, if it is your job as a reporter/editor, then yes, it does matter. Are the spelling police going to be out in force now?

Haha. They might be if they find out about this forum. A couple other forums I visit seem to have spelling police all the time monitoring & correcting errors on previous posts.

But it is funny, I get a lot of tweets, emails, etc, and it is amazing to see how people can't spell anymore. Now if it is a word spelled wrong once in a letter, that could be a type error, but when it is wrong three or four times in that same letter, then you know there is a problem.

This is a forum to give opinions. There is no minimum educational requirement to do that. One need not have a masters in English to post here. People are going to have different levels of education and writing skills. Let's be less nit picky about grammar and spelling and focus more on what somebody is trying to convey.
