if i recall correctly (and i may be wrong), through the heady days of the cold war Pittsburgh was #2 on the Soviet's list of most significant targets until the early 1980s.

I say this not to be a wiseguy, because I've posted often on how I'd like to see us regain some of our lost industrial standing, but I wonder where our Eds and Meds economy would have us on the target list nowadays. (Seriously.)
