What are you going to do when they are out of Colfax? Hope for the best at a good magnet? Private? I sure wish PPS were great schools. How awesome would Pittsburg be!

Most likely it will be either Allderdice or a magnet. I'd try and make one of those options work before I'd consider private (better to save the tuition money for college). We are likely to try the middle school magnet lottery for SciTech when the time comes, as our oldest is very enthusiastic about a school with that kind of focus.

I noticed Allderdice seems to be a pretty good option these days. Their test scores have been improving and it seems like the school is moving in the right direction. Hope you kid gets into SciTech. That sounds really cool.

O'Hara Twp. is a great place to live and Kerr Elementary is simply a fantastic school. Kerr is a "real world" school which samples a variety of parents and children on the wealth spectrum. Its teachers are likely the most dedicated in the whole district (you'd have to be to work with such a diverse population). I believe that you will find it a fantastic match for your needs.
Blessings!
