I shop at Sam's and Walmart, and pretty much avoid anywhere else.

Well, occasionally I stop in to Kuhns when they have a special on something I want.

Giant Eagle is probably the most popular grocery overall, with a pretty impressive selection in its "Market District" stores.

I think Giant Eagle is only the most popular because it is the most common. I've met people who hate it, and people who are indifferent, but I don't think I've ever heard anyone lauding it.

Fuel Perks don't offset how overpriced Giant Eagle is.

Giant Eagle is the most overpriced grocer in Pittsburgh, perhaps because it really has virtually no competitors other than Shop 'n Save and Walmart with the former holding a distant second place and the latter quickly catching up.

I'm sure there are some people in situations where if they utilize Giant Eagle's foodperks and fuelperks strategically it can actually be a good deal. But I bet there's many more that just think that is what's happening.

I do think Giant Eagle is pretty good for certain groceries they don't have anywhere else, especially for gourmet and ethnic foods. Just depends what you like.
