Hello, I've been reading about Hampton vs Pine-Richland and I'd thought I'd start a new thread to see if anyone has new opinions. We are looking closely into purchasing a home in Pine-Richland, but I am a little disappointed about what I've read about the High School i.e. elitist, poor math and writing, etc....do you think this will turn over in the next 10 years? I am buying in these districts specifically for the schools. My children are very young but I only want to make one move, if you know what I mean. Can anyone offer and up-to-date critique of the schools and general educational vibe? It seems like the redistricting has reached its way to these suburban schools as well. Any info on preschools would be appreciated as well. Thanks.

We moved here from California years ago and my children LOVED Pine-Richland Schools. One graduated from high school and the other has been through Hance Elementary, the middle school and high school. We've had very good experiences.

I'm wondering what you read that made you feel disappointed. I would suggest visiting the schools and meeting parents through the parent organizations to truly get a feel for the schools.

No district is perfect and test scores do not tell a complete story, so visiting is a good option.

I have never heard any thing bad about either district. Although we do not have any kids in school any longer all our neighbors who do speak highly of PR.
