As much as I would love to see this happen, I don't think it will. Most people with boats take them out to have fun and drink beer. I can't see a significant amount of boaters docking and deciding to go shop shop at American Eagle or REI.

But I do think having a marina will add an element of "coolness" to the area.

I could see them shopping at REI easily. The other high end stores? Maybe not so much. But for boating, hiking, kayaking gear? Yeah, they'll be at REI.

UK, yeah actually... but a Claire's junk jewelry store moved in (how they can afford the rent, I just dont know) and there's still a bunch of empty storefronts... the biggest hole being where Joseph Beth had their second store after moving from the giant one on the corner (now LA Fitness)
