I haven't used Panther Martins in years, but they always worked equally as well. My arsenal hsimply includes Rooster Tails and Mepps

Thanks Scott, I might have to give that a go. I suspect you can find a spot that wouldn't be crowded?
Especially on a bike. Just pay particular attention to the specific sections of the river, lots of different designations and rules to abide by such as "Delayed Harvest", "Trophy Trout Waters", and "Fly fishing Only"

scott,

That's interesting about the mepps. I tried them a few times, actually still have a few, and never cared for them. I think a person develops muscle memory when retrieving a particular lure. Different lures fish differently and the actions and results aren't always the same.

The Cranberry. Never bothered with a license.

h-curtis,

Where is the Cranberry? Is it near Morgantown, Wheeling, or Weirton?

I was actually picked to test Panther Martins in my middle school years. Someone wrote a column about me and my interest in Trout fishing when i was in 6 or 7th grade, and a rep from Panther Martin read it and asked me to try products out for them.

Did you test for them? What were your results?

I consistently caught larger Brown and Rainbow Trout while using them, especially with the spinner/fly combos.

I was fishing 12 Mile creek in Erie County with my grandfather one Saturday morning....threw one of the fly patterns down stream, reeled it through a deep pool, and WHAM, a huge tail swirled to get it. It was a beautiful 24 inch Brown.

lots of talk about trout but none about bass? The rivers around Pittsburgh are loaded with smallmouth. I catch more than I can count on the yough using rubber worms and some lures.

Bass are more fun to fight than a trout, and they weren't dumped into the river out of a bucket just a few days before.
