I'm sure it's him. His wife has posted here in the past. I recall communicating with her briefly via PM here. She responded to a post I made about my frustration in trying to reach him when I was planning to buy a building in Braddock for my child to pursue a passion for glass blowing.

I'm glad he is posting here. Hopefully he will continue in a less defensive way. He can take some advice and inspire local people here.

Based on my experience I recommend the following:

#1 Get volunteers to field your calls and manage your schedule. It's too darn hard to get in touch with you. I realize you're super busy, but actually responding to people interested in investing or contributing volunteer-wise would go far. When people call wanting to help or invest, it's discouraging to not actually reach you (or anyone) knowing that the news outlets get responses.

#2 When people ask you how they can contribute, tell them what you need. I've read you respond "do what inspires you" or something along those lines. There are many people in the Pittsburgh area who would be interested in volunteering. Make Braddock's needs known! Specific needs. Say we need people to do X, Y & Z.

I hope you stick around City Data and take advantage of this website to promote Braddock instead of arguing with haters. You don't even have to interact. Just come here and post threads on the latest things happening in Braddock----events and such or needs. You'll be surprised to discover how many Pittsburghers you have inspired, but who don't know how to help.

Good luck to you!

I'm fairly certain Rankin would happily merge with Braddock. It's always funny to me Braddock has such a bad rep, when Rankin seems even more desperate (e.g., less jobs and more crime). I suppose its testimony to what a good mayor can do to increase the profile of a community beyond all the other "forgotton boroughs"

Not that it would solve any of the problems in either place of course.

Here's the thread I created in 2009 expressing my frustration with my difficulty in contacting Fetterman. Definitely read it.

//www.city-data.com/forum/pitts...n-history.html

His wife helped me understand that he is stretched thin. But he needs to realize how it looks to people who do reach out to help but can't get the smallest response.

After all, he has time to search the internet for comments about himself and respond.

Fetterman, your maiden defensive post here isn't good PR. Don't turn people off with that type of negative banter.

I'm not trying to be mean. Just trying to open your eyes on how it looks to others---others who are/were supportive of your efforts.

Stick around and promote Braddock in a positive manner.

Good advice from Hopes. I might note there is apparently a surprisingly big silent audience here, and we have been cited by other important opinion leaders on occasion. So definitely if nothing else, it is worth posting here anything you would like a lot of people to see.
