Lots of great non-profits on the list and the donations are partially matched. They were fully matched a few years ago, but there were more donations than foundation money to match it. A pretty great concept for the region:

We don't know how much the match is until we see how much is given for the day, but it's still a great day to give to your favorite org(s) because your gift goes at least a little bit farther (I think match came out around 20% last year). I did that last year, have to pick something out again.

I like to give through Pittsburgh Gives to multiple organizations on that one day. This way, even my small donations go further with the pro-rated match from the Pittsburgh Foundation. It's a great way to support your favorite nonprofit(s). And they all need the help these days, given the state budget cuts, federal cuts, and the recession. More and more organizations are depending onthe local community to do their part.
