If you're eating chicken or carnitas you're killing a chicken or pig, respectively, anyways, so what difference does it make if you're eating an animal that was happy or sad when it died for you to shove it inside of your maw? Can you taste the fear in the meat?

As much as I love living in the East End for the convenience to things I hate the "fluff"-like pretense most of the time.
That’s not East End fluff, they post those in all locations, even the backwaters town I grew up in.

As for caring about the animal being happy or sad, if I had to chose (and you can chose these days) why wouldn’t you chose the better treatment for animals. There is also some who believe that say in regard to eggs, that a chicken producing eggs under stress in a small shoebox sized containers and never stepping outside pass that stress via the eggs they produce, or that they just don’t produce as good of an egg under those conditions.

Also, healthy, organic food and in turn caring about ones health is basically a status symbol in our industrialized food culture.

It's mainly East End fluff. There is no way a restaurant can serve past a certain volume and be all organic and all natural. It's too high of a volume going out and too much cost. They cut corners.

Besides, all organic doesn't mean you are getting the best varieties selected. Processed produce is made up of the best varieties for storage and shipping, not flavor.

Even if you're not a fan of Piada, or Chipotle, or fast casual/fast food, I think having options and businesses is better than having vacant spaces on Forbes Ave.

Just thought I would update that Piada has opened their Oakland location (Monday the 16th was the grand opening). Just wondered if anyone has been through yet.
