The Tower at PNC Plaza appears to be on about floor twenty give or take as of today. They have been working furiously through the winter despite it being either frigid cold or snowing or both nearly every single day. The building will be thirty-three stories and may top off this summer at the rate it is going. Of course, this building also has a roof that looks to be about fifty or sixty feet on it's northwest corner high point. Many of you may know this, but there is a webcam to follow progress. I like to maximize the picture to full screen. You can see workers buzzing around the steel beams. They usually get off work around 4 or 5. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j...liGZPlW015LAZA

Here's a look from the Pitt News: Redeveloped property holds promise for Oakland - The Pitt News: News

Glad to increase density there, have much-needed new construction, and have more housing options in Oakland.

Agreed. I've noticed over the past six months a large increase in the construction or proposal of building small and mid sized apartment buildings around the city.

In the Strip District alone we'll soon see 1100 Smallman; the Buncher riverfront redevelopment; the Pitt Ohio Warehouse conversion; the Wholey's Ice House conversion; and more in the pipeline for new residences to help relieve the housing shortage.

I hope something concrete comes of the buncher development with a time table and final plan.

The camera from that angle gives a good perspective of just how well this building and the Tower at PNC Plaza will fill in the skyline from Market Square. Does anyone know how close the PNC building is to topping out? From counting floors on the cam, it looks like they have around five more to go?

Wow. When you run the time-lapse on that camera you can see just what a rough winter it's truly been! It looks like squall after squall after squall blows through nearly each day!

The 1-story Moe's Southwest Grill building is going to look so awkward when The Gardens starts rising.

My count is about twenty floors or so. It is supposed to be thirty-three floors, so it has a way to go. Plus, the angled roof looks to be about fifty or sixty feet in the renderings. This will add fifty or sixty more feet at it's apex on the northwest corner of Fifth and Wood. This will make it about 565 feet when finished. Right now, it looks to be 300-325 feet.http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j...61725948,d.dmQ
In the renderings, it is taller than K and L Gates. Right now, it is not even near being as tall as One PNC, which is 425 feet, just across Wood Street. It will tower over that when finished.
