I certainly hope both of you make it up there now. It's such a great city to visit and the American dollar is quite strong vs the CAD so it's a great time visit money wise too since Canada can be an expensive country. The drive is long, but is goes through a lot of rural areas and the bored crossing we use to get there from here is in a rural area too so it wasn't that bad on the way up.

Likewise! I lived in Montreal for just a couple years in my youth but have been back only twice since, and both were for very short family affairs. I wouldn't know what to expect, as a now adult tourist who tends to go off the tourist-beaten path.

The airport (ours, Pittsburgh) has some kind of open house this weekend, by the way. I only heard details in passing on the radio this morning.

Well, just take I-376 east to U.S. 22 east to I-99 north to I-80 east to U.S. 220 north to I-86 east to I-81 north to I-88 east to I-90 east to I-87 north to A-15 north to Montreal! It's simple!

Great news; love Montreal. Had been curious to try out Porter airlines to get there but this will trump those plans.

Geeze, I just took I-279 to I-79 to I-90 to I-81 to the 401 in Ontario which turned into Autoroute 20 once in Quebec back in May.

Yet another flight. Elite Airways will start twice a week, year-round service to Sarasota/Bradenton, FL. Elite had been primarily a sports charter airline, but they are now expanding to scheduled flights. (I assume the sports connection is part of what is driving this flight to the Pirates spring training location.) No ticket/change/baggage fees, so they seem to be a step up from your generic ultra-low cost carrier.

That makes 70 nonstop destinations from the airport now I think. Huge improvement from the leanest years when it was 38 after losing USAirways hub
